Naming Flow Chart

Here is the pdf for the Naming of Compounds for the material that has been presented during this unit. You are welcome to shrink this and add this to your cheat sheet for the final.

Naming Flow Chart

Hope this helps a little. Remember the real and fundamental difference between the types is based on the interaction between the elements and how they achieve stability. If the interaction is based on sharing it is covalent and if it is based on the exchange of electrons then it is ionic. The other rules are in place for simplicity but consequently have some exceptions.

Practice

Here is a practice test for Chapter 8 & 9. This is a test that I have given previously for the material and that you can use for the review for the final exam.

Practice Test Chapter 8 & 9

Remember there will be differences between this and the final exam. The final is multiple choice and not short answer.
